Our spicy blend contains cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and cayenne, which boosts the circulation and quickens the effects of the cacao. This is Jonas’s original spicy drinking chocolate blend, inspired by time in Oaxaca Mexico and the ancient cultures of Meso-America which drank chocolate spicy rather than sweet.

The base cacao paste is our Belizean cacao which comes from 300 small (1-5 acre) organic family farms in the foothills of southern Belize. 75% of our farming families are indigenous Q’eqchi’ and Mopan Maya, and they grow their pure raw cacao with deep respect and understanding of the local ecology. This is our highest quality ceremonial cacao we offer – it is made fresh from the bean in micro-batches at Firefly Chocolate in Windsor CA. Its flavor is a nuanced mix of nuts and fruits.

Serving Size

For an individual serving, use 1oz of cacao (about 20 discs, or 1/4 cup), with 1/2 cup of liquid.
For a group ceremony, use 1lb of cacao with 8 cups of liquid, for every 16-20 people.

Shelf Life and Storage

Best within 12 months. Store at room temperature (70F) away from sunlight. The packaging is BPA free #4 plastic (recyclability depends on municipality).
