When the summer becomes hotter, sometimes a hot beverage is the last thing on your mind in the morning. Personally, we still love cacao even on hot days, but you could also try making an iced cacao drink! We have a recipe for you below. Drinking cacao at room temperature was actually quite common historically, although iced cacao is more of a modern invention.

We also have some community recipes for your enjoyment. Cacao is also a plant that activates our creativity so when it comes to recipes, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of experimentation!

Iced Cacao Delight

What you need:

  • 20-30 discs of pure Ora Cacao
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of oat milk
  • 1 tsp of sweetener of choice: we recommend maple syrup!
  • Pinch of cinnamon, cardamom, and cayenne

It’s super simple. Begin by heating your water and then making your cacao with it along with the spices and sweetener. You can then cool it by pouring it into your oat milk. Once that’s done, grab a glass of ice, pour over the ice, and enjoy!

For this recipe we recommend any of our pure cacaos such as Glowing Guatemala and Thriving Tanzania!

Add sweetness & spice!

“My morning cacao isn’t chunky from trying to blend all of that powder into my hot water. Instead, it’s creamy and delicious. My favorite recipe  is seven discs, 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper, 1tsp of pink salt, 1 tablespoon of maca powder, 1tablespoon of turmeric, and honey to taste. Morning magic!” - Emma

  • Please note, with our new disc sizes you would use approximately 14-20 discs for this recipe

Take advantage of cacao’s ability to carry medicinal properties into your body!

“I love preparing a cup of cacao. I’m guilty of putting a tsp of raw sugar in it, and cashew milk too. I use it to help with my thyroid issues as well so I put in selenium, inositol and ashwaghanda as well as some collagen with mushroom powder and you can’t even taste it! So delicious AND nutritious!” - Nour

Make a bulletproof mocha for supercharged energy

“I've been using this Cacao to make myself bullet proof mochas every morning! I use coffee, 10 cacao chips, 1 Tablespoon of Ghee and MCT Oil, Almond milk, and Vital Proteins Collagen  Powder. I warm it on the stove and then blend for about 30 seconds in my Vitamix. It's frothy, delicious, and filling!! Also, Keto friendly :)” - Christina
