What Is Summer Solstice?
The word solstice is derived from the Latin sol ("sun") and sistere ("to stand still”). At the solstice, the Sun appears to "stand still”, as it pauses before reversing direction.
The summer solstice calls in summer and the longest day of the year, in terms of daylight. This point marks the second phase of the Earth’s journey around the Sun, which starts with the Spring Equinox.
The special thing about the Summer Solstice is that it is a truly cosmic moment, beyond human-created time zones, days of the week, and months of the year.
It is the exact moment when the Sun is directly overhead the Tropic of Cancer of our planet (see photo for reference), which will happen on June 21 at 03:32 UTC.

Ancient people, as early as in Stonehenge in England, were very keen to these cycles because their survival depended on harmonizing with the seasons.
After resting during winter, labor begins in Spring Equinox, during which literal and metaphorical seeds are planted. Next, Summer Solstice is about relishing life at the midpoint of the year.
