We often speak about switching from coffee to cacao...

If you have a longtime coffee habit, you might say, “Easier said than done!”

So, how do we take the steps to bring more cacao into our lives?

It can be a struggle getting out of the grips of coffee and excessive caffeine!

But the benefits are clear:

  • More sustainable energy
  • A calmer nervous system, and
  • And a more nourished body

Where do you begin? It starts in your mind and in your cup!

Start In Your Mind

Like anything you want to change in life, it all starts in your mind.

Step 1: Trust. Trust is the biggest first step in switching to cacao, or even just reducing your overall coffee consumption.

Trust that cacao can bring you the same level—if not more—of joy, creativity, focus, happiness, inspiration, motivation, and inner peace.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "This cacao is so delicious. I am so in love with all varieties of Firefly cacao. I have integrated a cup of this into my every day, and it brings me so much joy. Thank you!" - Melissa

Step 2: Learn. Discover what makes cacao different from coffee, such as cacao's heart-opening compound called theobromine, as well as healthy cacao butter, beneficial neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, life-boosting antioxidants, and much more.

Plus, we add superfoods in our Enhanced 100% Cacaos! When you understand how cacao makes positive changes to your body, you will feel more excited about making the switch.

To clarify, caffeine is the main stimulant in coffee, and it’s definitely a stronger stimulant than theobromine (a cardiac stimulant found in cacao). So, when you reduce your caffeine intake from coffee, you actually become more sensitive to other stimulants like theobromine in cacao.

Cacao still has a small amount of caffeine in it. However, theobromine is the dominant stimulant, shifting the energy from the nervous system (as with caffeine & coffee) to the heart (as with theobromine and cacao).

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Great Nutritional Benefits! We have used the Medicinal Mushrooms Ceremonial Cacao Drink for a couple of years now. As we age, we continue to learn about the nutrients that we need. Medicinal Mushrooms is very helpful and important in helping us meet those needs." - David

Introduce Cacao & Add More

No matter how much coffee or cacao you drink, here's how you can bring more cacao into your life.

Step 1: Start Small. If you are new to cacao and don’t want to give up coffee completely, that’s totally fine! Many cacao lovers start by adding just a few discs to their normal coffee. You will notice a delicious taste, as well as a bodily effect! Eventually, you can add more discs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Cacao Coffee! We love adding a couple cacao discs to our coffee every morning. It really enhances the flavor!" - Madeleine

Step 2: Replace One Cup. If you drink multiple cups of coffee per day, try replacing 1 cup of coffee with 1 cup of cacao. For example, if you drink 2 cups of coffee, drink your morning cup of coffee, and then experiment by replacing your afternoon coffee with cacao (or whenever you’d have your second cup). If you are extra curious, try the opposite—drink cacao in the morning and then coffee later in the day. See how you feel!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Start It Up! An earthy bitterness that filled me with a mild but steady energy throughout the day. It will replace my morning coffee as I did not feel jittery or anxious as I often do with coffee. I will be a lifelong customer and buy some as Christmas gifts." - Mich

Step 3: Go All In. Go all-in on cacao and replace your coffee habit! This goes back to Trust. Many coffee drinkers think that it is going to be very difficult to quit coffee. Maybe they’ve tried drinking green tea and black tea instead, and it didn’t work. However, cacao will surprise you! It’s a very good substitute for coffee and can be a far more delicious alternative than drinking teas. In fact, many cacao lovers say they don’t miss coffee at all!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I'm sold. I was surprised by how much I love this product. My first time trying pure cacao paste. It took a while to get used to the strong taste, but it is almost reminiscent of strong black coffee. Through making that comparison in my mind, I was able to eliminate coffee and replace it with my cacao." - Alexis W.
