February 1st | Black History Month Begins
In 1986 Black History month became a federal observance in the US, although its origins run deeper in Black activism since the early 20th century. This month is known as a “commemorative observance” where we are invited to deepen our celebration of the contributions and our awareness of the challenges of the African American populations. Let’s choose to celebrate diversity, find our shared humanity, and continue to honor the history and unique perspectives of the peoples who make up this country.

February 2nd | Imbolc / Brigid’s Day
This holy day of the Celtic Wheel of the Year marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and spring equinox with the stirrings of spring and return of the light. It’s customary on this day to open all windows and light a candle in each room.

February 12th | Full Moon in Leo
We reflect at this full moon what has come to fruition in our lives, especially around the themes of Leo. This fire sign represents creativity, courage, loyalty, performance, flair, and the heart.

February 14th | Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day has its origins in a Roman festival of Lupercalia, which honored the coming spring and associated fertility. Nowadays, we often celebrate the loves in our life during this time.

February 17th | Presidents’ Day
This national holiday in the US was originally a celebration of George Washington’s birthday and has evolved into a celebration of all past presidents. We’d like to invite a reflection on leadership in general: what it means to be a heart-centered leader in your own life and in those you witness. So we invite you to prepare yourself a cup of cacao, take a deep breath, and reflect on the following questions.
Questions to Consider:
What are the qualities of a heart-centered leader?
Who and how do I witness this embodied in the world?
How can I amplify these qualities in myself?
How can I lift up those who embody these qualities?
February 18th | Pisces Season Begins
The sun moves into the final zodiacal sign of Pisces on February 18th. Pisces is the watery, intuitive, emotional, dreamy place where boundaries dissolve and we tap into cosmic consciousness. This is an excellent time to nurture your emotions, your dreams, and what threads of spirituality light you up and bridge you beyond yourself to all-that-is.

February 27th | New Moon in Pisces
On the 27th we recognize the new moon in Pisces by connecting with themes of spirituality, intuition, and creativity. As you consider what intentions to set for this lunar cycle, try the practice below to tap into your intuition and your soul / higher self to guide you.

February Invocation: Dream
The monthly invocation is here and we’re offering the following contemplation for you to sit with during your cacao rituals, on the theme “Dream.”
On a collective level, working with the “Dream” is alive energetically as we’re in Aquarius season, focusing on innovation and visions for the good of the collective. And in the Northern Hemisphere, though we’re still in the belly of wintertime, the seeds in the soil are just beginning to wake up and start their journey of pushing upwards towards sprouts that will be visible in the springtime. Similarly, in our psyches, the seeds of the dreams we’re holding for this year are beginning to wake up and this is the perfect time to tend them.
