- Have I ever experienced cacao communicating with me?
- What do I know about this plant spirit and how it speaks to me?
Some examples of ways that plants can communicate with us include but aren’t limited to:
- Receiving dreams
- A sudden intuitive hit
- New information or ideas that drop into your consciousness
- A state of contemplation and expanded awareness
- Increased energy moving through your body

Daily Practice: Learn to Listen to the Spirit of Cacao
For this daily practice, you’ll need at least 3 days to commit to your cacao ritual in the mornings. If you want to go a step further, make it 5 days.
Each morning, before beginning your day, set aside 15-20 minutes to spend time with your cacao.
The practice is simple, each day that you sit with cacao, open the space by speaking directly to it before taking your first sip: introduce yourself, speak your gratitudes for cacao, let her know why you are there, and then drink your cacao in silence with your eyes closed as you envision the spirit of cacao accompanying you in that moment.
When you are finished drinking your cacao, go directly into automatic writing using the prompt: What does cacao have to share with me today?
Allow yourself to free flow even if it doesn’t make sense. Over the next few days, you will see how your receptivity to cacao will begin to bloom!
